Bubbly girl, Fern, is full of beans and quite excitable when you get her out of her kennels but out and about she seems to take everything in her stride.
She went to the Dogs Unleashed event at Uttoxeter Racecourse, which was a huge, busy event and our volunteer said,
“Fern is a dinky little girl just 2 years old she had to be lifted into my car once in she sat the whole way (40mins) looking out the back window with the wind blowing in her ears.
Once we arrived she jumped straight out did a wee and was ready to explore, we headed over to the HG stand which looked amazing!
We passed lots & lots of dogs, small, large and all different breeds without any fuss at all she happily sniffed any that got close enough or just ignored them.
I was told she’s very excitable but she was very calm there maybe with everything that was going on. She did do a little leap and spin when she saw the dogs chasing the lure but was happy to stand and watch.
We went back to the HG stand were she was happy to help finish off Neil’s ice cream cone before heading back to Kennels for a massive snooze after all the excitement of the day.
All in all she’s a very sweet, loving girl who’s going to make a lucky family complete 🤍🖤
She’s also been out with our volunteers to the local park and they reported,
“We took a bubbly Fern for a walk but over Beacon park this morning. She is a bouncy happy girl who loves jumping up and getting a fuss. However she didn’t want to jump into the car boot and had to be lifted in. She travels really well and sat still all of the way watching the world go by. She jumped out of the car with no problem.
Fern is a 2 year old girl who is interested in everything. Her ears are always moving and she can be occasionally be strong on the lead but a gentle tug back or change in direction seems to stop this.
We met lots of dogs, big and small, on and off the lead and running about, she was not fazed by any of this as just sniffed them and wagged her tail. We met a mini dachshund (really small) and just another sniff and wag (what a star).
We also met three separate squirrels, and these made Fern jump, dance and spin.
Fern is a fun and friendly dog who wants to play. I would say that she would be suitable for a family with older children.”
What a fab little dog! Perhaps a bit livelier than you average greyhound but she’s just a youngsters after all. So if you want a fun loving girl, the Fern’s the one for you!
