Isn’t Guinness handsome? Just look at that jet black fur and those light amber eyes!
Guinness is a lovely boy who has been with a family who were interested in adopting him. However their circumstances have now changed and they can’t offer him a forever home but he is currently with them on a temporary fostering arrangement.
His foster mum says, “Guinness is a lovely dog who has been a pleasure to foster. As you can see from the pictures, with his jet black fur and striking amber eyes, he is a stunning dog and he certainly got lots of attention whilst out and about for his good looks!
He copes really well with our other three greyhounds, he would sometimes be a little growly if one of them invaded his space in the crate, which is fair enough, but otherwise was perfectly behaved.
Guinness enjoys his own space and would quite often have a sniff of the living room before retreating back to his crate in the kitchen, where he would happily stay for a few hours. He loves his walks and we had no issues with his toilet training.
He is generally a very quiet and placid dog, however in the first few weeks with us he did have some separation anxiety and would cry if we left the room but again this is quite normal for a newly homed hound. This has calmed considerably, although he will whinge if he’s shut out of a room and thinks the humans have food!
On the theme of food, Guinness like most newly homed greyhounds, hasn’t quite learned the ropes yet with food manners- it might be an idea to keep him away from food or at least muzzle him until he learns some table manners!
He is disinterested in other dogs on walks, even the smaller breeds. We have a seven year old daughter and he is great with her, giving her lots of cuddles and following her around the house.
He loves his doggy treats and is receptive to training. Guinness found being in a house very interesting and many items were “stolen”, only to turn up in his crate 😂 so hide away any kitchen utensils!
Guinness has had a small facture to his front leg in the past. Though now healed, he is a dog who would be fine with normal running around a garden but wouldn’t like very long walks of yomping across any moors!
If you can offer Guinness the quiet, loving home that he so deserves, then give us a ring on 0121 426 4810 or contact us to make an appointment to meet this lovely dog.
