TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Anyone want a love sponge? Then look no further, we’ve got just the dog for you…Jaxx
He’s firm favourite with all the volunteers and no wonder – he is super friendly, gives super hugs and kisses, and has a tail that never stops wagging.
His trainer used to take him regularly into her home. She described him as a calm and loving lad and said whoever gets him is going to have a great dog.
He can be a bit strong – so much to see and do! but walks well on a harness. He’s been offsite lots of times so there’s quite a bit of information about him but here is some feedback from one of his trips out:
Super friendly Jaxx enjoyed a trip to Clent this afternoon. Jaxx was very excited to get into the car, but decided to just wag his tail after putting his front legs in, leaving his human to do the heavy lifting💪
Jaxx lay down immediately and I didn’t hear a peep out of him for the short journey. When we arrived Jaxx was so comfy in the car that at first he refused to get out, after a bit of coaxing he jumped out and that waggy tail went back into overdrive.
We immediately saw a small dog on the path in front of us and after showing a bit of interest Jaxx settled and walked behind her. As we caught them up the little dog decided she wanted to play with Jaxx, dancing around and barking at him. Jaxx really really wanted to join in but was fairly easy to control, he doesn’t seem to be overly strong.
As we got to the top of the track into the open space there were a lot of dogs running around, kept looking towards them, but behaved really well. The more dogs we saw the less bothered he seemed to be. I stopped to talk to a couple with a spaniel and Jaxx was happy enough to stand and wait patiently.
Jaxx met a group of people on the way back to the car park and was overjoyed to have a fuss from all of them, going from one to the other until he’d met them all. He took a real shine to one of the men, going straight in for a full on lean!
We went to the cafe for some lunch and Jaxx waited patiently in the queue, ignoring a couple of small dogs who were whining behind him. We sat in the car to eat as it had started to feel a bit chilly.
He’s a fab dog, super friendly, walks really nicely, travels well and I’m sure will be fine with other dogs after a bit more practice.
