TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Johnny’S trainer told us that he wasn’t fast enough for racing so took early retirement and loves gravy bones!
One of our volunteers took HIM out for the day to get to know him and he came back with this glowing report:
We took Johnny to a quiet park in Burntwood today. He had to be lifted into the car boot but he travelled really well. He lay down and did not make a peep.
He was strong on the lead initially so we put him on a harness, but after this he didn’t really pull very much and we changed back to a lead.
He is a lovely fussy, friendly dog who loves a fuss, with a constant wagging tail and likes lots of attention.
We met a squirrel right in front of us but Johnny just looked and didn’t attempt to chase when the Squizzer ran off.
We also met an owner with 3 different breeds of dog and Johnny just sniffed and wagged his tail, he was so happy to be with different dogs.
He was not fazed by the traffic on the main road we walked along, and did not bother with the kids playing foot ball next
Then the lucky pooch got to come to our house for a home visit.
He didn’t know how to fetch a ball in the garden, he would chase it whilst it was moving but walk off when it stopped. He wasn’t fazed about being in the house or by the TV being switched on.
He was comfortable enough to have a drink of water but we only managed to get him up a couple of steps before he gave up on the stairs.
After lots of hugs and fuss in the house Johnny started to lick any part of us he could get to, All in all a lovely friendly dog.
