TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Mack is one of the five dogs Hall Green offered to take in and help from the Lancashire Branch of the Greyhound Trust as they weren’t able to home dogs during the Covid pandemic over the past 12 months. He has been waiting for the past year for a forever home.
Mack is another hound who had a rough start to his retirement. We were told that he didn’t receive the right care and treatment that he needed when he broke his hock.
When he came to the Lancashire branch they took him to see the Supervet, Noel Fitzpatrick, for an assessment. When they x-rayed and examined the hock, it had fused solid though it looks strange when you see him. They confirmed he’s not in any pain and he doesn’t require any medication.
Our observation is that he has an obvious limp/change in his gait, but it doesn’t bother him, doesn’t stop him jumping up at you or happily skipping around in the paddocks, otherwise seems like a typical greyhound.
So Mack wouldn’t be a greyhound who you’d want to go hiking across the moors with but in an ordinary household with an ordinary garden he will live a happy life.
He hasn’t been out to the park yet so watch this space for an update on how he is with other dogs.
But in the meantime if you’d like to meet Mack, then give us a ring on 0121 426 4810 or contact us to make an appointment.
