Brian has been with us a little while now, and we would love to find his perfect home soon. Given he is only 2, Brian can be a lively soul but he has very good manners and is easy to walk.

Brian had a day out with one of our volunteers recently and travelled well in the car. He was also very well-behaved at the park, where he met small children, other breeds of dogs and lots of ducks! Brian can’t live with cats or other small animals as he’s just too lively for them so he would need a family with no other small furries. He may well be too lively for younger children as well, though he does like children.

Brian would love to go to a home with someone who can spend plenty of time with him and keep him entertained. As you can see from the pictures that he loves to play. In the paddock he runs after toys and tosses them around. He especially loves squeaky toys and his eyes light up when he hears one and his tail wags continually. He even helps himself to the toys in our toy basket. He’s a playful happy soul with a lot of love to give.

Two of our volunteers have walked Brian at Waseley & Worcester Woods walks. Rita reports, “He walks beautifully & is good with other breeds, not bothered by the off lead ones at all. He was very interested in Charles’s sandwich though, but reacted well when told no.”

Another one of our volunteers, Anne, has taken Brian out on many occasions. She told us, “Back in the Autumn I walked Brian each Sunday with my cousin’s 12 year old daughter who became very fond of him and him her. Brian walks lovely on the lead and although his ears are always up. He doesn’t pull and can be easily distracted from the jumping squirrels.

I took him home and whilst there he was very well behaved. We have rescued quail in a pen which he looked at once and then ignored. He really enjoyed being part of the “pack” with my hounds Odie and Bear. He responded well to housetraining and did his ablutions in the bushes. To sum him up, he is a baby!! He will make a fantastic pet especially with well behaved children.”

So if you think Brian is the boy for you, then phone us on 0121 426 4810 or contact us to come and visit this lovely hound.
