TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Tall, dark and very handsome, just look how he gleams in the sunshine! 😎
Eric looks older than his 3 years with his frosted moustache and has a nose that’s just waiting to be booped. 🥰
He’s a real cuddler and loves to give you a big hug and fuss ❤️and loves to lean on you for confidence. He also loves to play = please visit our Facebook page to see videos of Eric having fun in our paddocks or as our volunteers describes it. Eric having a party for one, lol!
Eric is a dog who needs a compassionate and experienced owner. He was in a home for a short time and got on really well but unfortunately he was jumped on by an off lead small dog who tried to bite him and it knocked his confidence and where he had been OK with other breeds of dogs, it’s made him very wary and he was returned to our care.😞
Our volunteers have been taking him out regularly to get him used to other dogs again and also has been to our volunteers home for a few afternoon visits to give him a break from kennels. Our volunteer said,
“Eric is feeling proud and so he should be! He was certainly the best boy at the park this morning 🤩. Eric jumped on the back seat and comfortably stood watching out the back window for most of the way.
He was nervously alert when we arrived and he could see something exciting or scary might be afoot. He had a lovely bounce to him as he walked with his ears pricked up.
He’s not the most confident boy and when he felt unsure, we watched for a bit and then walk on, his head firmly pressed against my leg ❤️❤️❤️. He walked on a loose lead, and didn’t pull once, not even after the plentiful supply of squirrels.
There was plenty of yampy dogs out today and whilst he watched he certainly wanted to keep a safe distance from them so we made sure that we didn’t have any close ups with anyone. He seemed very relieved each time we’d passed some dogs and would visibly relax and seek some praise.
I kept it brief for him today and went back to the car while we were winning. He’d definitely tired himself out and settled straight away.
Eric has stolen my heart and I can’t wait to take him out again next week. He certainly needs the practice and he’s got guaranteed cuddles at my mum’s 😍. WELL DONE SWEET ERIC!”
He went out again more recently and wasn’t fazed by the rain.
“Sweet Eric had a very wet trip to the park this morning. He didn’t seem to care, just feeling happy to be out. We met Archie the greyhound and a few other little strange things.
Eric tenses up a bit as they approach, but making sure they don’t get in his face reassures him that he’s absolutely fine.”
If you can help Eric re-gain his confidence and are a quiet, adult-only household with no other dogs then give us a ring on 0121 426 4810 or contact us to make an appointment at our Broadmarsh Kennels.
