Floppy
You'd be forgiven if you think his name came from his floppy tongue but actually it's due to his floppy ear which was torn when his mother picked him up when he was a teeny puppy. But we just think it adds to his character....and he has loads of that!
4 year old Floppy is a real favourite with our volunteers. A fabulously friendly hound who LOVES his humans and is very affectionate, Floppy simply has to say hello to everyone he meets.
Floppy loves to play and interact during playtime, but he will also amuse himself throwing his toys around the paddock - all interspersed with the all important cuddles of course!
Floppy walks brilliantly on the lead, he generally likes to stay very close to his walker to make sure that neck scritches and ear rubs are always readily available. One of Floppy’s favourite things is to roll around in the grass, on walks it’s not unusual to see all four of Floppy’s paws in the air and a volunteer trying to disentangle him from his tangled harness - he always looks so pleased with himself afterwards!
While Floppy is practically perfect with his human friends, he is still learning that other dogs don’t need to be shouted at quite so loudly! Floppy is reactive to other breeds, and although he is improving with practice, he will need an owner who will work with him to help him improve his behaviour. We think that the extra effort this may involve will be repaid a hundred times over with the love that Floppy will give in return.
