TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Hawk went on Sunday’s Waseley walk. He was a little overwhelmed to start with – lots of people / greyhounds & other dogs to watch – so he had a good lean on our volunteer until it was time to walk.
He said, “Once we got walking he settled down and wanted to get to the front – we saw quite a few dogs off & on lead and he wasn’t phased – interested but not reactive. A big Staffie (on lead) came over to say hello and he was fine – sniffing back but no reaction.
Once back at the car park he came in close again for a lean – but was much happier with people coming over to say hello / fuss and ask about him. A lovely boy with a quiet personality, a little bit nervous and wary in new situations / but soon settles down.
He was fine around the older children that were present. I think he could live both on his own or with other greyhounds – but may not be the best for a noisier / boisterous household.
When he feels comfortable we’ve found that he really loves to play. Another one of our volunteers has taken a real shine to him and says, “Hawk is an absolute legend – a retriever dressed up as a Greyhound. He loves a game and a cuddle, very responsive and an all round gorgeous doggy. An extremely affectionate chap and would make an amazing companion.”
So if you have the patience to gain his confidence Hawk will make the perfect pet.
