TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Ivy and Zoomer are sister and brother and have been together all their lives. It would be just plain wrong to separate them in their retirement so if you are thinking about having two dogs, then these siblings might just be for you!
Ivy is very shy and needs Zoomer to be her wing man as he gives her confidence. Zoomer is the more confident of the two but looks for Ivy if she’s not there.
One of our volunteers took Ivy to the park. Ivy told us about her visit and said, “The park was full of all new sights and smells and my eyes were everywhere . It was all going well until I met little humans on trikes and roller skates. These made me very nervous and my walker took me somewhere quiet to compose myself.
The garden at the coffee shop was much more my style and I settled down. The walk around the lake was lovely and we met furries of all shapes and sizes but I wasn’t very interested at all . Heading back to car I felt a little nervous again with the fast cars zooming past but I was ok after a bit.
Our volunteer said about Zoomer, “I had the pleasure of walking this lovable chap this morning. Zoomer had to lifted in the van but he settled down travelled well. When we got to the park he met some little humans and let them fuss him . Everyone he met he wanted a fuss from. He walks great. Lovely dog on the lead, met Labrador, great no problem, then met a little fluffy, again no problem. He’s very loving.”
We think Ivy and Zoomer would like to spend their retirement in a quiet home where there are no small children to worry Ivy. Zoomer is more robust but Ivy finds the a bit much.
Well, you know what they say, greyhounds are like crips…you can’t have just one.
