TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Our resident royalty at Broadmarsh kennels. He is a pleasure to walk and he travels well in the car and has good manners around other dogs, both greyhounds and other breeds.
This beautiful black boy is one of the favourites with our volunteers. They all hope it is their turn to take him for a walk, he is so well-behaved on the lead no matter where he goes and even ignored a rather troublesome off-lead Labrador.
One of our volunteers who walked him recently told us “King is a lovely dog who walks well on the lead and doesn’t pull, even though he is very interested in his surroundings. On meeting a medium sized dog he was initially inquisitive, but soon settled down to walk alongside. He really seemed to enjoy being in the company of his new friend and I feel he will make a lovely pet.”
“King has had a busy couple of days! Yesterday he travelled to Waseley Hills in the Trust van to attend our monthly walk. He was very interested in the event and meeting all the other hounds. He had a good look at the other dogs running round the fields but otherwise was very accepting of their silliness. He definitely liked being out in front best, and pulled a bit when we were at the back. After the walk he very much enjoyed his sausages and stood quietly while we waited for the raffle.”
King joined a group of volunteers for a walk to Wollascote park and our volunteer said, “King was really good today, walking quietly alongside me. He wasn’t in the least bit bothered by the other dogs in the park. When we walked back along the road, he ignored the traffic as well.”
King doesn’t often search out fuss but he takes it when offered. So can you offer him some fuss and a forever home, and maybe with a comfy sofa thrown-in would be even better. We don’t know why he is still with us.
So if you could offer a home to this regal boy, please give us a ring on 0121 426 4810 or contact us to come and visit his royal highness.
