Can you give this greyhound a home?

At 5-1/2 years old and after 135 races, Lily is very much ready for her retirement home.

A few our volunteers had a nice trip out to Sutton Park the other day and Lily went along.

At first Lily seems quite a nervous dog but in reality we think she just finds everything very exciting and overwhelming.

She really didn’t know what to make of other breeds of dogs and got overexcited if they came to close – so work in progress in that regard, but it’s early days yet and that may improve with walks in a quieter environment with less going on.

She was, however, at ease when paddling in the stream which she seemed to enjoy.

She’s incredibly gentle taking treats and is quite cuddly once you get to know her.

We’ll continue to help Lily acclimitise to the outside world but we think she would benefit from a home where she can be walked in quiet areas so as not to overwhelm her while she learns about the world outside of kennels.
