Doesn’t Marina have the most amazing ears? She’s also very fond of tennis balls and a play in our paddock. She’s been out several times and is finding other breeds of dogs less scary all the time and even let two Labradors sniff her.
Volunteers Craig and Donna took Marina out for the day and this is what Marina had to say about her experience:
Hi everyone Marina here. This afternoon was greyt.! I got taken out by some nice humans. I was a bit reluctant to get in the car until they put my squeaky duck on the seat and then I soon jumped and had a lovely lie down.
First we went to a place called a house, well I just thought it was Xmas as I didn’t know where to look first, there was so much to take in! A big thing in the corner of the room caught my attention (they said it was a TV) so I went over and had a look to see what was going on but then I got bored and carried on playing with my squeaky duck, I carried it everywhere with me.
I jumped on the sofa (taking my duck with me… I even tried to bury it under the blanket) and I had a lovely chill for a while, I didn’t want to eat my dinner as I felt a bit unsure eating in a strange place so nice lady human sat next to me and fed it me from her hand. I soon gobbled it up and even licked her hands clean ❤️❤️
After than I got my vest on and told we were going for a nice walk so I jumped in the car again (with my Duck). We arrived at a lovely big park where I saw lots and lots of people, small human things and other small things on four legs.
I showed lots of interest in the the small four legged things but I wasn’t aggressive (I wanted to be good for my humans). Although there was a small white one that kept jumping all over the place and barking at me so that made me quite nervous and I barked back ( just to show it who was boss).
I saw something called a squirrel but that didn’t Interest me (I’m not a typical greyhound 😂) and saw lots of things playing in the water who looked like my squeaky duck but these ones moved all over the place and didn’t squeak so I wasnt very bothered about those either.
I then got taken back to all my friends at the kennels and told them what a lovely day I’d had, I shall go to bed dreaming of my forever humans and my own squeaky duck that I’ll have one day.
Love Marina xx
