Podge is such a happy chap that he never stops wagging his tail. He’s been with us for awhile now and we just don’t know why. He went to the Greyhound Day Parade in Birmingham on June 1st and volunteer Anne reported:

“What a fantastic day 😁 Jackie and I took the lovely Podge to Birmingham on the train. He was simply amazing. He walked beautifully, climbed of his own accord up three flights of stairs at the station. He walked impeccably through the streets of Birmingham and joined in the parade. Jackie and I took turns holding him and it was so funny that he made his way to the front and as our chairperson Tracey Parbery was dancing along. He lovingly put his head under her hand!! That did it for me I just swelled up inside! It was truly beautiful πŸ’– it was just as though he was saying thank you from his and the hearts of all the Hall Green greys past present and those yet to come πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–”

Podge is so popular with our volunteers and has been taken out several times by lots of volunteers, including a trip to a volunteer’s grandmother’s house where he was impeccably behaved. . He’s been waiting such a long time for his forever family and certainly deserves one. Here is a report of his most recent adventures:

Podge’s outing to Bewdley

A good boy as always. Podge was pleased to say hello to little dogs with a wag of his tail. He also ignored a dog barking and growing at him. He enjoyed a lovely fuss from a little boy who sadly has two cats already. A little nervous when it was busy, but more than happy to chuck himself on the picnic blanket in a quiet shady spot. Well, it was meant for him wasn’t it?! Thought it noteworthy to mention that whilst having a look at someone’s sandwiches as he walked by and smelling some fish and chips on a bench there was little in the way of reaction from him.

Podge definitely responds to his name from what we’ve observed which will no doubt also help with future training, alongside a few treats!!

Podge has such lot to love to give the right family.
