TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Queenie is a sweet, quite girl who doesn’t show herself well when visitors come to call. But our volunteers can see past all this and see her potential.
Our volunteers, Jill and Martin took Queenie out for the day and here is what they had to say about this sweet, gentle girl.
“We took Queenie out for a walk along the canal today. She was a little reluctant to get into the car and had to be lifted in. I guess it was quite a jump up, as she is so little! It’s only a short trip, and she spent her time enjoying the view from the window as we went. Queenie is very amenable, and was happy to trot along the towpath on a loose lead. She is a sweet, calm girl, quite slightly built, and has the most adorable ears, which she often wears curled up on top of her head like a little hat.
Queenie seemed quietly confident and took everything in her stride. We met dogs of various sizes, families and cyclists on the towpath. She stood patiently while we chatted to another greyhound owner, who was taking a walk with her grandchildren and her hound, and greeted the other breeds we met very politely. She paid no particular attention to the ducks, geese, moorhens and swans on the canal but was interested to watch a game of football on the playing field. The only thing that sparked any excitement was a cat walking ahead of us for a while, but her only reaction was to walk a little faster.
Queenie made the perfect companion for our walk. She is very easy-going and would likely make an ideal first greyhound. She was well-behaved with the children she met, and might suit a family home. An inquisitive girl, Queenie is going to enjoy exploring the world away from kennels with the lucky person who homes this delightful girl.
