TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
They say good things come in small packages and this is true with Shaz. She’s a bundle of fun that just wants to play. She likes to jump for kisses and a cuddle which we know isn’t everyone’s cup to tea but she’s just adorable with it. She does, however, walk ever so nicely on the lead when out and about.
Shaz loves, loves, loves humans but can be a bit particular about her canine pals. If she like them then she’s her best friend. You can see in one of the pics that she loves to go walking with Ted and Shrek who we call her “bodyguards” 😆 but is she can be a bit grumbly around dogs she doesn’t like but not hard to handle – she just likes to wear a muzzle when out, which we recommend anyway. We think Shaz would probably prefer to be an only dog.
She was an absolute star when one of our volunteers took her home for an afternoon socialisation and as you can see from one of the pics, is a real cuddle bunny.
Shaz had a day out to our first awareness event in over two years! Considering the noise with model planes flying over head and the number of dogs walking around not one of the hounds was fazed, Shaz included – all they wanted was fuss (and not caring who they got it off). 🥰
More recently Shaz went to the park with one of our volunteers who came back with a glowing report:
What an absolute delight Shaz is. Pretty much unfazed by anything, she took no notice of dogs in the distance, it is only if they come up too close she will give a warning growl. Geese and ducks on the pond – not bothered, rats 😳 running around, not interested (are you sure you are a sighthound Shaz?)
She walks beautifully alongside on a loose lead, enjoying a sniffari, taking in all the interesting smells.
Back at kennels I took her into the office for some quiet time and cuddles, she does love a fuss and keeps nudging your hand if you dare to stop.
She does like to mouth people when they go into her kennel, there is no malice and she is only playing but for this reason I would suggest that she isn’t homed with young children.
Shaz has been with us far too long and I sincerely hope that she finds the forever home that she so deserves very soon.”
If you like your greyhounds with a bit of character, a bit of playfulness, but also a real cuddle monster, then Shaz is the girl for you.
