Tom is a big bouncy ball of a dog with even a bigger heart. He is one of the most cheerful, playful dogs we’ve had in for a while – just look at that cheeky face.

Our volunteer Craig has been working with Tom on his over-exuberance and say he’s making such alot of progress. Craig and volunteer Donna took him on a day out recently which was enjoyed by all, including a trip to Craig’s house and here is what they have to say:

Tom’s afternoon out ❤️

Craig and I took Tom out for a well much needed day away from kennels this afternoon, he’s a big strong boy and can be a little reactive but today he was very much loving life, and so he should.

He is such a fabulous dog, he had a good mooch around Craig’s house. He went upstairs with no problem and decided he liked looking at himself in the mirror (well he is a handsome chap after all).

He jumped in my car with no problem at all with a constant waggy tail. He settled down well on the bed on the back seat and seemed very content.

We took him to Bodenham Arboretum and he was loving it, He met lots of farm animals and particularly liked all the ducks and chickens. He came face to face with some very fiesty geese who soon put him on his place by hissing at him and flapping their wings 😂.

We left Bodenham and popped into Mary Stevens Park quickly before taking him back to kennels. All in all he has had a fantastic day and he really does need more days out like this to get him used to normal surroundings, He’s going to make someone a brilliant pet. We love you Tom x

Craig thinks that Tom would suit a strong energetic owner. His main love is his free time in the paddock when he gets back from the park where burns his excess energy running round with his toys tail wagging constantly he will let you know when he’s had enough and easily comes to back to you on recall to have his lead put back on.”

So if you like your hounds fun, silly, and affectionate, then give us a ring on 0121 46 4810 or contact us to come and visit Tom.
