I want to home a greyhound, where do I start?

The homing process is really very simple! We make it as easy as possible whilst ensuring we find the perfect Greyhound for you.
Here's our three step guide to finding your perfect canine companion.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
STEP 1

VIEW THE DOGS

You can make an appointment to visit to our kennels either by phoning us on 0121-426-4810 or use our contact form and we'll get back to you. Our volunteers can offer advice which dogs may suit you and your circumstances. Once you find your new best friend, you can reserve him or her with a non-refundable deposit of £25. Please note we will reserve a dog for two weeks while we do your home visit.

We're here to support you and make sure we find the right hound for you!

STEP 2

HOME VISIT

This is an important part of the homing process – it’s not a test, it’s about matching the right dog with the right people. This usually involves checking fences in your garden, enquiring about small children and other pets, how long the dog will be left etc. and sharing information about the breed and how to settle your new dog into its new home.

This is your chance to ask any questions you may have and to find out about us.

STEP 3

PAPERWORK & DONATION

When you come to collect your new hound, there's some simple paperwork for you to sign, and a donation balance of £165 to pay. All our greyhounds are neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated.

All come with 4 weeks' free insurance with Petplan, a collar, lead and muzzle.

ONGOING SUPPORT & ADVICE

Supporting all our new owners and their dogs is very important to us. The person who visited you at home will phone you a few times to see how your new dog is settling in. We can offer advice and support on a range of issues including feeding, house training and exercise. Please do not hesitate to contact us for advice concerning your greyhound.

We are here to help.
