Poor Jack hasn’t had much luck when it comes to finding a forever home. He has been homed a couple of times but then returned to us - the first time when his owner became too ill to look after him and for a second time when he struggled with separation anxiety in his new home.

He has now been back in kennels for 10 months, which is such a shame as this boy has lots to offer the right family.

Jack is a very affectionate boy, he loves fuss and attention and being close to his human. He happily chatters his teeth when being fussed. Ideally, he would prefer a home where someone is home most of the day. Jack lived with children for a short while and was reported as being loving and tolerant around them. Jack must be an only pet in the home.

Jack can be anxious when out and about and we feel that he needs a home where his people understand this and can help him adjust to everyday life. His anxiety means that Jack sometimes reacts by barking or twirling when he sees other breeds of dogs and whilst this is manageable he would be more suited to someone with sighthound experience, who won’t be fazed by this behaviour.

Using a harness when walking him and sticking to quieter areas does help. He is quite easily distracted using treats. When calm he walks right alongside you, nudging against your leg, only moving away when he finds an interesting smell to investigate or a tree to water!

We are really keen for Jack to be away from the kennel environment now as the longer he stays the more stressed he is becoming.

Could you be the special person he is looking for? Jack does like his own space so we think he would be happier as an only dog so he doesn’t have to worry about sharing his space (and he can have all your love to himself 🥰)

If you can turn Jack’s luck around and make him a happy chappy, then give us a ring on
