TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Everyone who is working towards greyhounds is part of the extended greyhound family, and family members help eachother…that’s what they do. So when Claire from Wiltshire contact us to help find Jack a forever home, we said we would try and help where we could.
Jack is a lovely 3 year old boy who was living with Claire while she found him a home. He lived with her retired greys, an old cocker spaniel, two English pointers and a small cross breed. Plus Claire runs doggie daycare so he was exposed to lots of other breeds but as he liked his own space had his own room at night.
He finally found his forever home but later took exception to their old girl greyhound and had to be returned. However in the meantime Claire had moved house and couldn’t take Jack back as she couldn’t give him the space he needed. So ever so reluctantly Jack has ended up back in kennels in Wiltshire. When Jack went to his first home, they had grandchildren and he was fine with them.
He is absolutely great and loves to play with people and children. He is very uninterested in dogs out and was fine for three months in his home. He just likes his own space.
Claire is looking for a forever home for Jack and says “Jack is able to walk with dogs in a relaxed and calm manner. However he in unable to live with another greyhound or dog, due to his need for personal space. Since he’s been back in kennels we have had several experienced greyhound owners take Jack out for walks since his return, all have commented on his good manners and lack of interest in other dogs on a walk.
We will continue to take Jack on walks with other dogs and socialise him away from the kennels whilst he is waiting his place. He loves his walks, needs a confident owner preferably with greyhound experience or at least dog experience. He loves toys and playing. He is castrated, he has lived in a home for four months. He has been back in the kennels for a month now. I’ve sent a picture of Jack playing at my dog field yesterday. He just loves to play ball. There were other dogs in the next field which he ignored.”
If you can help Jack and live in the Wanbrough, Wiltshire area or willing to travel, then give us a ring on 0121 426 4810 or contact us and we’ll put you in touch with Claire.
