Another happy homing story

We love hearing from you about how your re-homed hounds are getting on and what they’ve been getting up to in their retirement.

Hi there, we just wanted to give you a little update on the much loved Glen from Broadmarsh kennels.

It's been 7 months now and we've had numerous challenges, but seen a world of improvements. Initially Glen had terrible separation anxiety which we had to work through but now simply bounds around with joy when we come home (cue helicopter tail and throwing his kong in the air). We only hear him bark about once every 3 weeks these days even when he's alone so that's an enormous improvement.

He's learned some brilliant tricks and will 'sit' and 'wait' very patiently for his dinner or any treat and his most recent trick is to lay 'down' (always for a treat of course). Let's also not forget the adorable greyhound 'are you sure that's not my treat you're eating there?' eyes, which he obviously has down to a 't'.

Glen has made enormous improvements while out walking, most of the time walking on a loose lead and we're still training him carefully but he is now so much more relaxed with other breeds and their hoomans. We're hoping he's well on the road to befriending a few more one day as he already has a lovely collie friend called Meg.

He's settled in brilliantly though it has been a learning curve for us in knowing how to make our home the best environment for him. Our sofa wouldn't be the same each day without his perfect roaches and each evening, our long black Glen-shaped blanket to keep us warm, he does give the best cuddles!

Thanks again for all the support you've given to help us all settle,

Jayne, Jono and Glenny Boy 😁
